I don’t know maybe because it’s a veteran-run non-profit charity that helps veterans transition into aviation careers. Maybe it’s time all these aviation conferences actually start tailoring to the target audience in which they were originally founded for. But that’s just one man’s opinion

Ah so the military pilots don’t feel catered to ENOUGH?

its not enough that you get preferential hiring despite being some of the least 121 experienced pilots in the pool, and often struggle adapting to the operation? You want even MORE preferential treatment? It’s not enough that all your buddies walk your resumes in with an interview attached?

You are not serious people.

Bro didn't you go from CFI to 320, where you've been for like two years?

You're complaining about an ex-mil guy who spent 10 years flying high performance aircraft getting an interview before you? Before 2022, most AA pilots were either ex-mil or were ex-freight/RJ pilots who spend close to a decade doing it. Your attitude is honestly pretty **** and exudes entitlement.

Maybe someone should have started a lost decade regional pilot group and organized some conferences?

How many people move to LA to make it big in acting but retire waiting tables at a truck stop? How many college athletes don't make it to the pros?

Socioeconomic success isn't really doled out in a 'fair' manner. Things seem pretty good right now though for prospective airline pilots. Maybe a little less good than 2-3 years ago. But I'm not sure it's time to start whining though.

I had zero 121 experience and adapted to the operation with no issue. The job isn’t hard if you have any sort of professionalism and put forth some effort. I’m sorry some military guy in years past walked off with the girl you were eyeing at the bar.

Same. Took me about the two OE sequences to get into the groove.

Sometimes I tell metering I'm in the wrong alley at ORD and I get laughed at by them, but come on, the 121 experience is not required to be learned at a regional.

By and large military pilots have zero prior 121 experience when they arrive at their first regional or major. I've not heard of mil guys or gals struggling in particular, outside of some of the early Apache rotor transition folks in the "give everyone $60,000 to get hours" era, which seemed to be a fundamental instrument proficiency issue...and that's got a relatively straight forward solution, it just doesn't really need to be solved inside an RJ sim.

Further, if you didn't know that the EEOC class called "Protected Veteran" was highly sought after at airlines that make a non-zero sum of their revenue from GSA contract airfares and participating in the Civil Air Reserve Fleet, well, I'm not sure what to tell you. Either go play that game or accept that you're a little further towards the back of the line.

Either way, it sounds like you just got the great news that you need maybe another 3-6 months of experience to get an interview at a legacy. So who is the unserious one here?

Oh yeah that's right I suppose he's a little salty since he is now left holding the bag from the strategy of resume washing to a ULCC and now still thinks 0 TPIC will get you to the right seat at a legacy. But hey my 1500 hrs of TPIC in 2 and 4 engined airplanes means I should go work for a regional for a little while and not get an interview at the RTAG conference.
