A319 Retrofits
#21
So if the 319neo is nearly the same purchase price as an A321neo, do the professional fleet planners here think that the future will be B738s and A321s, plus the MAX 10 whenever/if ever those show up?
I think it's obvious the mighty guppy is the superior performer, I just find it hard to believe that we would be looking at a similar cost to operate a full A319 vs a B738 with only 128 seats filled. I understand the A319 isn't an A220 or E190, but there's gotta be some savings in fleet commonality. Then again, I'm not the expert on cost per seat gallon milage.
Is there any utility in a new A320 family purchase less than a 321 then?

They seem very wedded to the fleet simplification so I don't expect 220s. You could do 195 E2s but only if you integrate Eagle (at least the 175 side), since nobody seems to have an appetite for this, your status quo prediction is the most likely.

Or a sweetheart deal from Boeing on some Max 7s to go with more Max8/10s and/or 787-10s. But it’s a fair point, why fly a Max7 or 319 when you can take a Max8 for almost the same cost?

I agree about obsession with fleet simplification… IF a new NB type is ordered it will be for way down the road, like starting 7-10 years. Initially as a 319/320 replacement, after this coming refresh gets grungy. May touch 737 NGs too if a big enough version comes. I do not see any possibility of E195-E2. Supposedly Delta A220 operating expenses are fantastic.

I'll guess between 2030-2032 they will finally be gone, sooner if there is a significant decline in bookings.

I'm think we don't order any narrow body airbuses except 321s until they next generation of narrow body is announced. Boeing and Airbus are both working towards this supposedly. So is jet zero who ever that is.
That's the future of narrow body.
That's the future of narrow body.
