I have no dog in this fight but it's definitely more modern. I like it but question if it will have the longevity of the old logo. Then again I guess it could be questioned if the "New American" will have the longevity of the original airline as well.

Stylish. Anyone else notice a resemblence to UA's 1960's logo though? (see avatar)

You might not be too far off base, LBB.

Considering the "class" of clientèle riding the airlines today, as compared to when AA last updated their paint job...

Maybe they just decided to do away with the pretense, and admit what it is the formerly "glamorous" airline industry has become.

Of course, we are a heavily outsourced company now and the current plan is to increase outsourcing, so it's not surprising AA will be a psychologically fragmented airline going forward. Maybe the merger will turn things around and many hope it does.

As it stands now, I think this airline is flying itself into oblivion and perhaps snickering ridicule is the next stop ?

Hideous!!! They forgot the bottom of the tail. It looks incomplete. The line from the vertical stabilizer just stops randomly. The font is weak! So much for saving weight with the polished look too. Boooh! I'm not usually this negative. Really!
