Default American interviews and class dates

Took the video interview today. Got the same questions as 'Beast'. Not sure if they're the same for all candidates or if there's a couple question banks.

Either way, good luck to all. Hope to see some of you in Dallas...very soon.

Congrats everybody.

I find it fascinating, and a little bizarre to be honest, that they are using the same questions. They had to know without a doubt that it'd be all over the internet post haste, and knowing in advance the exact questions is a huge advantage.

But, something to consider if you are an interviewee... if you basically write a response to each question and read them back, it's going to be painfully obvious they are prepared answers, unless you are a good enough actor to make it look off the cuff.

My guess is they are looking for articulation and presentation as much as the content of the answers themselves.

I just took the video interview yesterday. I would like to think that response time may play into this as well. With folks waiting until the last day to accomplish it, they would have more time to prep/ look prepared.

Not sure what they will be going on. I've heard from my sources at AA that a 3rd party HR firm handles and selects the folks from the video interview.

Anyhow, now I have nothing but time to overanalyze and wait to hear one way or the other

There are a ton of high time military instructors and evaluators who are probably the best candidates right now, so Im guessing its very selective right now at AA. Talking to my active duty buddies, most of them are getting out in the next few months, so thats even more experienced instructors who should have no problems getting hired. I think once you see the pool of check airmen, and military IP's dry up, then things will open up.

Why are they the best candidates? They'll be flying a 737 or Md 80 not a F16.

I hope you were drunk in a bunker when you posted this.

Even if your assumptions were true, which they are not, way to **** off your (or your buds) future co-workers with that type of attitude.
