I had an interesting conversation with one of the pilots who will be interviewing candidates. He told me that a letter of rec has no bearing on whether a pilot is selected for the interview process. However, the letter helps during the decision process.

So, nobody is getting a call because of their letters of Rec.

If you receive nothing, is that bad? Or, do they send an e-mail saying, "thanks, but no thanks"???

It was an email instructing you to go to pilot credentials and select the interview tab and then choose your time slot

The Mil vs Civilian is a tired old debate. Clearly for another thread.

Plus guys with VIP 135 charter and Fortune 500 corporate experience have the most diverse flight time and can handle anything. AND can read a Jepp Chart.

Apologies, my intent was not to stoke that debate, rather to inform myself (Being somewhat unaware) of what kind of experience and backgrounds people being called have

For those of you who got e-mails, could you help out those of us who get a lot of junk mail by letting us know the email header and address it came from? Helps to know what to look for.
