I'm interested in this info as well.

It will once you make it through all the HR screening. It's been said straight from Flight Ops leadership that HR is running the show for the most part. Once you make it past the video interview, then all your connections can play a role.

The old "Friends and Family Program" appear to be gone this time around.

I still think there has to be a way to break out somehow, whether it's thru an internal connection or a job fair. Take a look at WAI for example. AA is participating in the fast pass thing, that's 15 minutes of face time with them. I would think that's going to work wonders if those 15 minutes go well. If it doesn't go well, well maybe a TBNT email will follow haha.

Default Time Line

What is a typical timeline for new hires these days .... from the initial notification to video interview, to F2F interview, to CJO, to starting training/class?

3-4 months?

Thanks

I highly doubt anybody will have 15 minutes of face time. For AA, on thurs, a fast pace will give you a 15 minute time window in which to arrive. That way you can drink your latte instead of standing in a 1-4 hour line.

If you divide the number of fast passes into the amount of 15 minute time slots, it comes to 5 minutes.

I've got a family obsessed with Disney, and the way the fast pass works: two lines, the 1 hour+, and the 15 minute line with a scheduled time. Sine WAI picked up the strategy from Disney, it will likely be similar.

If you don't get a fast pass, it won't be the end, you'll just have to wait in the big line for that company.

For what it's worth, I got the video interview offer 4 days after a CP put in a recommendation for me. I've heard rumors of a few being plucked out of the crowd after certain events as well. Coincidence? Maybe. Either way, pursue every lead! It can't hurt!

Friends and Family is alive and well. Do not stop networking, it could be your key to an interview.

That's great news! Having good connections is a great thing, and I'm a big believer that it should be that way because its a great way to vet someone personality and flying wise.
