It is possible!!
I (presumably) failed the personality test the first time around, re-took it, and got the video interview link. Keep at it, it can happen!!
Also I highly recommend "Ace the Corporate Personality Test" by Edward Hoffman. I learned a lot about these tests that I didn't know before.
FYI: the questions a few pages back are still valid.

A couple of friends just got calls today from CA Hale - an awesome, very classy move to call on the 4th!
Our squadron has had 5 AA hired now, a US hire, and at least one more video interview to go - and hopefully a few more following that. All have been IP’s for awhile, and age ranges from early 30’s to 40. We also had a couple of TBNT letters, both to great guys, so who really knows how they grade the initial app, but I would defer to what Elcam said.
All that being said, non mil guys fear not! At my interview this spring we had several regional pilots and ULCC pilots - all FO’s. We even had a legacy FO interview (and accept the offer). I would say that non-mil were about 1/3 of the interview class. A few of the mil folks (ANG/Reserve) had RJ/Civilian time as well. The one thing I noticed is that we all seemed to be very excited to be there and all of us were outgoing and all smiles. Of course we were all nervous, but still good natured and everyone I met was someone I'd go on a trip with. So there is something to their personality test I guess.
My timeline was approx:
Vid Interview: end of Feb
More Info email: mid March
Invitation for Interview: mid April
Interview: mid May
Background check email: four days later
CA Hale call: 12 days after interview… I also took my daughter out to surf first point Malibu for the first time with mama on the beach taking pictures - so it was a great day!!!
Medical: next day
As far as the timeline is concerned - a buddy of mine was in school three months after the vid interview… I’ll be closer to five, others in my interview class are approaching six months. Our class seems to have the record for waiting, as the hiring dept had a couple of week long conferences (OBAP and WIA) that set things back after our video interviews, and then a couple of months were there was only one scheduled class.
I've got about 4000ish TT (all but 100 ME turbine)
- Res Mil IP (debatable)
- Civ PIC
6 Internal Recs that got their letters through the system… a couple others that tried but they never showed up on the ‘recs’ page.
Hope that helps. For those waiting, try to be patient. I know its hard but I’ve heard from a few different sources that they may try to bump up training after the summer. All the gouge is spot on - mainly they really want to know that you’ll be a good fit. EVERYONE involved in the AA process was excellent, and I mean that sincerely. Good luck!

Thanks for the news Cheddar. Agree that it was a classy move to make the notification on the 4th. Appreciate the info on your timeline. Helps the rest of us keep hope and manage expectations (or at least try to).

So glad for the positive interview experience!
I was sitting in the waiting area at another major in the 90's when the door flew open and this candidate comes screaming out yelling " you motherscrathers " !
That's the way they rolled but, really ?

The big distinguishing thing in the whole process is the personality test. They look at like a bell curve. Where they draw lines on the ends most likely generates TBNT letters. The more in the middle you are of the curve the more likely you are to move forward in the process. This was from table conversation at indoc dinner last month. It's just their way of weeding through so many apps, they have to do it somehow I guess.

Anyone that has been hired able to share some info on the welcome dinner orientation? Is it black tie affair or business casual? Our lady guests? My wife wants to know more info on what to be prepared for than I can tell her, any help is appreciated.

The closer you are to the precise middle the more weight it carries. Therefore increasing the chance that you will get a video interview. Obviously everything else in your app counts but when they all look the same the personality test has tremendous weight.

You'll get an email but here is the quote :
"Dinner on Wednesday night is a celebration for you, so attire tends to be a bit dressier. Be sure to pass this information on to your guests (particularly if they are female – you know how we can be about clothing!"

In my class all of the guys wore a shirt and tie, most wore a jacket too. Most of the women wore a nice dress.
It's a really nice dinner. They take class photos and have a wings presentation. It was a very memorable experience.
