Any suggestions on what airframe to bid in oreder to get to ORD ASAP? And how long it would take to hold a position in ORD?

It probably doesn't matter. 737 and S80 are almost the same seniority in ORD.

Right now it's about 5 months to get ORD. But there's no guarantee that the opportunity won't be available for months and months(junior DFW 737 was locked out for 6 months)

Trying to predict what will be the junior a/c at some future date is almost impossible.

I was hired in March and I have seen people close to my seniority get S80 ORD and LAX (maybe the Airbus in LAX). Also, some S80 Check Airmen (so you know it's true......sarcasm) told us that 90 fuel tanks mods have been purchased for the S80s. Apparently these are required by the FAA and due in 2017 or 2018. So the take away was that at least 90 will continue beyond 2017/18. I'm just spreading gossip though, set me straight as required.

ORD S80's are going in the low 10000's (July Indoc class) - for Oct. Bid what you want!

~9920 got 767 ORD in the last bid. I think that number puts them in the late April new hire class.

Thanks, you're correct. For some reason the 3XP's didn't show the Oct inbounds.

DFW A320 junior guy is 7 months. He flew another equipment, on the line, for about 4 months.

LGA/ORD 767 is 5 months. Two months on the line.

ORD S80 is 2 months.

Tremendous amount of base movement (49 newhires -12%, switched bases in October) at the junior end if guys wanted it (ORD/DFW/LGA/MIA in 6-10 months).

Like Cheddar said - if you want it bid it because there is movement.

So it sounds like I have a decent chance at DFW A320 whenever we get some kind of combined list...I'd fly the S80 but we'll see if they'll be around much past 2017. I've heard rumors on either side that they are staying or going around then.

Huey, not a "hiring class date question" but are the S80's equipped with ADS-B, for 2020 ? I wonder if this will impact fleet decisions for the S80's

I think they just need a GPS to be nextgen compliant for the first stage if theyre going to stay domestic? If theyre anything like DAL's mad dogs, they are not GPS equipped, which is what they'll need initially. Im told the GPS and Pegasus FMC upgrade runs around $200K per airplane, so it would make sense to do that and keep them flying for 10 more years.
