That's a VERY slippery slope. Were YOU hired by American Airlines or "acquired" by American Airlines (be it flow-thru or merger/acquisition with your airline) ?
It's easy for pilots to label and classify other pilots in what they assume or hope is a lower recognition thus elevating themselves as somehow more worthy, but in reality, we're all equal in that respect.

Same here Jan hire patiently waiting. Have another interview soon with another Legacy. Probably take the interview but what I'm hearing its also a six month wait at least from CJO to class. The thought of prepping and doing again is exhausting. Hoping to hear something soon so I don't have to go.

Really................by itself ?
It was "American Airlines" 5 years ago and still is. Its headquarters is in the same location it was in 2013 the other carriers ops, training and management facilities are being slowely moved to DFW and 65% of the former employees are its present employees. It's stock is still the same identifier and the former legacy shareholders receive upwards of 80% of the value of the new merged carrier.
Sure, a new senior executive team (mostly) and some newly acquired employees, but aside from that, perhaps you can enlighten me how American Airlines of 2013 was acquired by X to become the itself in 2015 ?
