I've pretty much expected that, my personal theory is that USAPA and APA want to give furlough credits to each other to put both of them further up the list in regards to the west (Phx) guys. A little pat on the back and boom son, there you are!
I guess the latest thing on the jumpseat is a seniority deal where you list and for a certain period it's seniority and then fcfs. I didn't quite get it when it was explained to me, we'll see. Like my good friend 'Big Baller' says, go ahead and plan on the worst case scenario, that way you aren't disappointed. 2400 guys who aren't working at American yet senior to me in the end, yep, I'd say that's my worst case.

No, furloughs and flows total that. My personal theory is that some blend of LoS and category and class is 'fair' (like UAL and CAL) and that will put most of the furloughed guys ahead of a lot of the 3rd listers and then the flows below most of the 3rd listers. Just my opinion.

With 4k retirements over 10 yrs and 5 times the widebodies I'm sure some AA pilots have a similar opinion. The important thing is to remember the mistakes of the pass and move forward with a single list. If this company is going to be making a billion + a year, we as a single group will gain more in focusing on a industry leading CBA then fighting over a couple hundred seniority #'s.

I am ok with furloughed pilots being slotted in front of me, since I am a third list guy. Frankly, even though it is to my detriment, I feel it is the right thing to do. They're older than I am, interviewed and were hired before I was, and will retire before I do. The only career expectation that abounds, in my book, is that you shouldn't have any expectations, because things change so quickly, from month to month. Let alone, from year to year, or decade to decade.
The only thing I do disagree with is the claim made by some of the 824 members I have spoken with, that openly feel they will be, or should be, slotted in front of a "now on property" third list pilot. I think the SLI should consist of current (not necessarily active- ie furloughed) pilots. In short, my opinion is that if you have been to Indoc., then you have a seat at the SLI. If not, then it's on to flow to the bottom you go.

Eagle guys correct me.. I believe most AA numbered Eagle guys/gals are already at AA. The 824 do not have #'s. Legacy AA is hiring. Think those guys/gals are slotted in seniority with the 824 flows as the flows come to class.

Yeah the aa furloughs are going above us that is almost a certainty. I expect usapa to throw us all under the bus. I'm more worried alt the eagle flows and aa newhires. I remember hearing there won't be a snapshot taken and that they are going for a "dynamic" list, whatever that means.
