I can only speak from experience in regard to the metal pilot's wings. I have never had an issue with them- always stayed put and never stabbed me. I've also never seen them chafe a shoulder harness. I'm all for them because they look sharp, classy, and shows attention to detail.

As for the double breasted uniform- well, I'm reserving judgement until I see it. Sitting down is absolutely going to be an issue.

Captains will be in charge of uniform compliance??? That means two things to me. Firstly, the uniforms will look aweful, as most captains I fly with look worse than I do. Also, I'm going to have to upgrade quickly so I can keep wearing my boots : )

I always thought the sewed on wings look tacky and the metal wings on the shirt was more about ego.
I hope the wings are only used on the jacket and a single breasted one at that.

You're never supposed to sit down in any final coat, single or double breasted with it buttoned.

I believe in haberdashery they refer to those as waistcoats or vests.

Same wings and hat pin? Always thought they were classy.

Yeah I agree. I always like AAs wings and hat pin. How we keep them, they are both classy and sharp.

American should just leave the uniform alone. It is a bad ass uniform and is perfect just the way it is. Put all those efforts in perhaps returning to full meal service on all flights or something or perhaps skimpier uniforms for the F/A's....hahahahahahah

I disagree. Navy is a horrible color for a uniform and white epaulets on the shirts, grey stripes on the blazer and whatever those are on the leather jackets.......... pick a color! lol
