Yeah, I do. I just cruise through here on occasion to see the latest on the USAir/America West food fight. I saw this bit of misinformation, and thought I'd correct it. Sorry to interrupt, Camy.

Not sure where your are getting your data from, but it's false. My close friend just upgraded to CA on the Airbus....he's a 2005 hire and people junior to him are upgrading.

Note: He actually held 737 CA 3 years ago but was displaced recently back to oh....787 FO. However, he's going back to domestic as a CA. A lot of displacements at UAL right now BECAUSE OF THE PILOT INTERGRATION(it will happen here too for years). He going back to domestic flying, as a CA, because he wants to be close to his young family most of the week. Jan 00' UAL hire might be SLI equivalent to CAL Sept 05' hire.

You might find this hard to believe, but we aren't talking about Delta hiring here in the AMERICAN thread.

I think your UAL/cal ratio is correct. Your buddy is a CAL pilot. Their upgrade was running 3 years before the merger...then when their SLI was done, a whole bunch more CAL guys were able to bid in to the left seat but are now displacing back as the equipment fences go away.

I'm talking about the native UAL CA upgrade, which is right at Jan '00 for SFO A320 - which is almost identical to ours at Dec '99.

Yes, and in the Apr of 2014 it was an April 2012 hire...

That was before the retirement of the LUS B767-200 fleet, and the reduction in group 3 lines of flying in both PHL, and more significantly in CLT. When the more senior pilots in those bases then bid over to the open Group 4 positions, and with the two winter seasonal drawdowns that have occurred since then to bump the junior folks off the bottom of the roster, your example of a April 2012 hire hasn't been able to reclaim the junior group 4 F/O position for some time now.

The OP was asking about the junior group IV FO DOH/domicile NOW not two years ago.

I know that, that's why I started the answer with your quote and "yes". I was trying to give some contextual background to guys who aren't familiar.
