Then one day out of the blue, at the end of June, the recruiter emailed me again to schedule the interview. Don't know what happened there.
Good luck on the interview!

What’s the latest and greatest with contract negotiations? Are you guys expected to see work rule improvements, compensation on par with higher paying ACMIs, etc.?

We have thousands of applications on file, and virtually no one else is hiring. Why would you think that there would be any meaningful improvements in the next CBA?

Still apply. Atlas doesn’t seem to be keen on hiring mainline guys as they will likely leave after things go back to “normal”. Also if you’re going to get furloughed, we seem to be lending a helping hand to the Compass and TSA pilot group. I imagine they’ll give a regional driver who’s down on their luck a lifeboat. You’ll never know till you apply though. I got hired during a time I thought Atlas wouldn’t look twice at me, things worked out. Throw that app in.

Cheers,
blink

My last four were all big numbers and it made for worse seniority.

We are a couple months into a nine month countdown to arbitration. As pointed out the company currently has no incentive to offer better conditions to attract applicants. The company commits to about 4 days a month of negotiations to be able to say that they are working toward a new contract. Of those 4 days there are only 8 to 12 hours of actual negotiations. While about half the sections of the contract have tentative agreements, only a couple of those TAs have financial implications to crewmembers. When it takes over a year to come to agreement over uniforms you can imagine how long it would take to get agreement on vacations or retirement. The open sections go to an arbitrator the beginning of next year and we should get handed our new contract by next summer.
