Agreed, Whip. Thankful this Thanksgiving Day for many things including having a good job at Atlas. The people so far have been great to work with.

Haven't missed a Thanksgiving, Christmas or my wife’s birthday in years. Mine yes, hers No!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our folks with your families and especially those toting
/towing the line for the rest of us. Be safe out there.

Exactly. Atlas play a very short game with regards to business but and exceedingly long game with regards to suppressing its pilot group. Prior to Covid they were willing to bankrupt the company to get their way. The extensive hiring is NOT for expansion, it is to throw cheap bodies at a problem they see coming. There will be an organic backlash (not Union organized) and potential schedule disruption when the gigantic $hit sandwich is forced down our throats in arbitration. To mitigate this they are hiring as fast as they can, it is simply tactical. As I have said here many times before the whole fight has been about scope. Scope WILL be gutted under arbitration and it is my opinion that once we are under a long term, low ball scope free contract we will be hived off to an Equity vehicle and the rest will be history. JD/JC and the officers of this outfit wil disappear into this sunset with millions and millions of $. Just ask one of our many former ATA/North American colleagues how this plays out. Atlas management are not interested in genuinely competing to make this a world class operation. They are interested in positioning the company so they can cash in their chips. This is just my opinion and I am very willing to be convinced otherwise.

Atrasaty, none of us who have been here for some time now (especially the long timers if you will - not me) will be convinced of anything until we look back at our career thru reTired eyes. Very insightful and informative post. Keep on just keeping on and we’ll just make the best of it. You know I do have the winning Lottery ticket so you all might as well quit now!!! Hey, this ticket has no expiration date, or does it. Cheers!

The junior pilots are feeling the Atlas love right now. Min pay, 17 days. The “fun” has worn off. The happy to have a job will be rapidly coming to an end.

No OT, no chance of anymore than 62-70 hours, the grind of being at Atlas. While your mgmt makes billions, we make 100’s of dollars a day.

Atlas will experience an Exodus once again late next year early 2022. History shall repeat itself.

After being online, now you’re beginning to see why attrition was through the roof in 17-19’.

When a giddy new hire explains to me how much he enjoys certain hotels (Coogee Beach, e.g.), and how some of the catering is "pretty good", and he's just happy to not be in Afghanistan sleeping in a tent anymore, "the bunks are GREAT!", I just quietly smile to myself.

As majors call back all their furloughees and hiring starts back in earnest, the mantra will go from, “Any port in a storm” to “Time to jump ship.”
