The last guidance we received last year was pilot employees are only to submit letters of recommendation for applicants they have actually flown with before. For acquaintances only, you can mention the name of the pilot employee on your application.

So to recommend someone we have the link on the employee page which directs us to email crewrecs. Taking a copy of the the letter to the interview is a good idea. Is my understanding right for the folks that are calling me?

You shouldn't need a rec right now... They're desperate for pilots.

Has anyone that applied in the last week or two received a call yet about an interview? I know they probably get about 1000 apps in the last couple weeks since TSA and Compass both announced their closures. I'm sure Atlas/Southern HR is swamped but I'm just trying to get a feel for how long it might be before calls start go out.

Jesus. How about showing a little empathy? Maybe if you were about to be out on the street you’d be a little anxious about having another job lined up, eh?

Apply & wait. Welcome to life at the airlines of the 80’s and 90’s.
Atlas will be selective - we can only run classes of 9
due to CDC guidelines. Unfortunately for you, and fortunately for them- they will have their pick.

Don’t do it! It’s a severely bad situation there, and how the feds haven’t intervened yet is beyond me. I know it’s terrible losing a job but going to Atlas will be adding insult to injury.

I appreciate the thoughts of empathy however coming to work at Atlas is honestly probably worse than going to work at Home Depot. It truly has become the worst job in the industry. I feel qualified to say this during these hard times. My airline disappeared after 9/11, ‘was on the street, ‘was furloughed after 2008, back on the street and then 8 years at Atlas.
