I live in the PNW so I probably won't be going home but there IS weekend time cut out for family visits, recreation, drive to the Keys, etc., right? Can I plan for some breathing-time in September?
I’m in that class too. See you there!
My understanding of the training schedule is that they have to give us a couple of days off every 7 days. It could be different, but that’s the maximum. I am told that once we get into the sims, there will be periods of significant down time. Like 3 or 4days between sessions.
But remember….I’m gonna be a new hire too. This is just what my buddies that already work there have told me.

Average sound level in the cockpit of a 747 is 76dB which is relatively loud.
Most keep the headset on when in the seat.
Aircraft headsets are Telex 750’s so zero noise attenuation.

I think it depends on your availability and what classes are offered. Classes are about every 3 weeks. Tech and HR interview on 4/27, CJO on 4/28, Class 5/30. I'm sure I could have gotten an earlier class but needed to give my current employer 2 weeks notice.

Any luck deciphering what airframe you will be offered by TT? I mean is 1000 Dual given in a C152 to the right seat of the 74 too much to ask? Interview coming up in a couple of weeks and seems like I see Atlas planes everywhere at the moment.

Welcome aboard! Nice to see you honored your employer’s 2 week notice. Met a few who would argue this but I still find it noble and good karma even with the worst outfits.

*Exception to policy: Definitely have seen outfits attempt to sabotage their employees from leaving during those 2 weeks or after no notification so it all depends I guess.

Yeah, that’s just wrong. I believe in giving the 2 weeks notice as well unless it is a bridge I am willing burn. I already did that once in my younger days walking off the job lol.

How it was explained to me in interviews and training: If you don't have any turbine time (or even a lower amount) they'll typically put you in something where you'll get multiple landings per trip, so the 73 or (less likely) the 76. The 74 and the 777 do long legs with augmented crews (76 does some of this, too). You'll end up fighting to get landings to maintain 121 currency if you're on those fleets. That's no way to build proficiency. Speaking of that, proficiency checks aren't fun when you haven't been flying.

You don't want the 74. Not yet. Enjoy it when your seat lock expires in 24 months (assuming you get the offer). Year 3 is when the widebody pay really goes up relative to the 73, anyway.

You need at least 500 hours of Turbine time to get hired into the wide body fleet anyways. If you don’t have have any turbine/121 or 135 time. Thinking you will be able to make the jump from CFIing to the type of flying we do. Yeah, that’s a tall order and and you will be trying to swim with weights on you.

You will be offered the 737 which only flies about 20 to 40 hours a month. My recommendation would be to go to the regionals to build some time if Atlas isn’t the final destination. But if Atlas is the final stop that you plan on then get on and get your senioritY number.
