Atlas Initial Training

The company iPad and phone are useful and can get you by on a very routine basis, but overall they are company property so there’s that as a warning statement. I had some useful stuff on the company phone/PCD such as schedule snapshots, etc. and last year passing thru MIA they updated several of our phones and the good stuff was literally MIA after IT got ahold of it… it’s theirs after all.

Got May 30th 747 as well. Interview Wednesday, email Thursday morning, CJO letter Thursday night. I was told by interviewers that it was 3 months of "heads-down" training. Heard from my inside source that it's just like other training at our "old" company. I assumed a week of indoc., couple/three weeks of systems, then FTDs and then sims. I live in the PNW so I probably won't be going home but there IS weekend time cut out for family visits, recreation, drive to the Keys, etc., right? Can I plan for some breathing-time in September?

74 is loud. Not very common to not wear a headset during your “sit period” other than long over water crossings which seems limited at best. Most wear them, some listen to music and I am amazed that some hear well with the headsets on board. I’m already half deaf so that won’t happen.

Was wondering why you are given company credit cards - can you buy all your meals on a trip with them?

Not all hotels are contract or “Direct Bill” hotels and many times you need to jump to a different hotel and trust us, you don’t want to pay $500-$2000 a night on yours. It’s reimbursable but a pain. Transportation sometimes requires your company card as well. Lost luggage, you might need to buy a new wardrobe (after talking to the company) but there are limits. You could buy all your meals but you must reimburse them when doing your company card reconciliations and that’s a pain to keep track of. After all that said, you are receiving per diem. They also use our cards to buy airfare and you will confirm or deny usage of said tickets during reconciliation.
*Don’t recommend buying any pets either with their card.
