Default Training backlog

I was talking to guy who had just Finished IOE and he said he was about to hit his 1 year on property mark. Is the training back log that far backed up to almost 12 months to line flying?

Think the 767 was the most backed up for the past year or so. People were getting sent home after indoc for 4 months, but looks like they stopped big classes for a while and now it's all almost straightened out now.

People hired now won't be facing those delays. Way too many were hired last year for the system to work properly. Almost as if it was an effort to get pilots on property "now" to keep them from going elsewhere, or to stress the system and find the true hiring and training limits. 767 classes were cut way back, 767 and 737 CA upgrades were paused for a couple months to reduce sim demand, and we got access to a 767 sim in Japan.

Hi,

I recently accepted a CJO on the 74

Looking at the email and the iPad app I’m not sure what lessons I should get done before class, the email shows the “foot prints” but also says the foot prints don’t correspond to days.

Any help would be appreciated as to what I should have done before day 1?

Thanks
Dan

They will give you around 11 days following indoc to complete the CPaTs, but I found it helpful to have most of them completed prior to day one. That gave me time to go through the FCOMs (limitations/procedures volume 1 and systems volume 2) and meet with a study group.

get ALL CPATs done; I cannot emphasize that enough. Not that it’s important but it will save you time to study, because you will have a ton of other stuff to do.

they are CBTs, you should receive an email from Aflas within a month of class. If you haven’t then reach out to them and get the like sent.
There are a lot of CBTs to cover, you’ll need to do 3-4 a day for almost a month. And you need that time once you start ground school to study FCOM

All of them. Do ALL Of THEM. Once complete, they are in your library, and you can go back and study them again during your ground school.

100% this and find Doc Donaldson's 747 oral prep video on youtube. It is so helpful for explaining systems and getting into the airplane.
