Finally got the CBT access but guidance is to not get to far ahead or you'll need to review a lot before the actual classroom lesson? Just wondering what most people are doing, so far Ive done a couple and it looks like the 74 has about the standard systems of the other 4 engine planes I've flown? Appreciate advice in advance!

Finish the CBTs before you get to training if you can. Finishing them is a requirement at some point during ground school. They will give you an exact date after you start class. If you have them done before you arrive, then anything else is just review and not something you’re pressed for time to complete.

If the CBTs all make sense and you understand them, then the rest of your “study time” can be spent on the FCOM, FCTM, SOPs, FOM, flows, whatever you feel you need. You will also likely develop group training sessions within your class for further discussion and understanding.

Just go to YouTube and search for 747 Sweater guy. Do the CBTs whenever, earlier is better but those YouTube videos are really good review.

Just remember some items he discusses are not accurate for the plane you are learning.
Don't say the EECs work in alternate mode when on reverse, on your oral. They will know exactly where you got that from.

Recommend you knock out the CBTs as much as possible as early as possible. Having spare time to hit the manuals, stay ahead on flows, etc. is golden.

I worked in the Training Center for 20 years. I always recommended that students avoided alternate sources of systems knowledge for this exact reason.

Remember you get the CBTs ahead of time and have a week of 121 indoc where there is plenty of time to get ahead on systems and flows.

During systems training, MB will spend 4 hours a day telling you not to listen to the "sweater guy".

I think those videos are useful for review for recurrent training, when you know which parts to filter out.

I’m another 1.5 weeks from getting the CBTs email (from what I’ve read). For the 777, anyone know if the “pilotbrary” 777 Systems CBTs on YouTube are useful? https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL..._UD5aLNn5HJp09
