Hey guys and gals. I just want to say thank you for all the info in this thread.
I just finished the online assessment and I got the email on Friday, 5/15.
Also I sent in the NHSP form and updated resume after I took the test.
Hopefully I get a call for the June interviews, so excited.

You're quite welcome, Protegepilot. That's what this thread is all about (although it does occasionally divert south into uncharted waters. Usually within a few posts it rights itself and returns to normal!). Hope to be enjoying a pils or two with you in Hahn soon.

This thread doesn't go back that far and maybe some of the seasoned guys at Atlas can chime in. How did Atlas fare thru the recession and the fuel spike back in 2008-9? Is Atlas recession and 9/11 proof?
Had a furlough in my short career already, and I know no one can predict the future. Hopefully Atlas can ease my paranoia
So now all you need is a bankruptcy and a divorce and you'll be a real airline pilot!
Atlas had about 500 pilots the beginning of 2009. They furloughed about 80 as I recall. Some for just a couple months and some for just over a year. No airline can be 9-11 proof and they all will respond to slowing economy. One of the things I told them in my interview was that my prior job went away because it was totally US domestic cargo and cratered as the economy slowed in 2008. Atlas is diversified with ACMI work, their own freight work, AMC flying and charter work. And they span the globe. So if one part of the world slows or one market slows they still have other things going.

I thought it was the 3-2-1 rule to be a real airline pilot. 3 divorces, 2 furloughs, 1 bankruptcy. Im really slacking then.
Atlas business model seems pretty solid compared to the Legacies and I agree Atlas will keep hauling if economy slows again.
Anyone else out there just finished the online assessment?
