Adding to that news:

Most junior 767 CA hired 01/11

Most junior 747 CA hired 07/10

16 more retirements to go in 2015

25 retirements in 2016.

Total pilots as of 7/30/15 = 1128 (class date 07/20/15)

ANC new hire FO's hired 01/15 have been able to bid out of ANC to CVG.

The latest rumors are that that the company will be approaching the union to negotiate contractual "fixes" that may encourage new hires to stay instead of bolting at the first opportunity.

The "fixes" will have to be pretty substantial to make that happen. A good start would be prohibiting the scheduling and travel departments from violating the current (weak-a$$) contract on a regular basis.

At the most recent pizza party, we heard the talks were a joke. Company is making no substantive effort to fix anything, and thinks they can cover anything by throwing it to the OT/VX crowd.

So far it's working, plenty of takers. They laugh at how easy we are to volunteer.

I think they omit the New Hire positions on the first release almost every month. New revision is already released.

This has been a very lengthy process for me. Many know that I was without my medical last year, so I count my blessing to be back in the air and to have this incredible opportunity. Never giving up actually pays dividends.

So thank you to the many who I have chatted with on this board and have provided great information. I will keep up that part and continue to help other pilots when I can.

I hope to have more favorable information about getting wet soonest.

Fair winds...V
I'm sure you'l do fine. I know it's been a long road for you and you've definitely had a great attitude during your absence. Be well and fly safe.

It appears things are happening quick at Atlas now. I got my initial email with the assessment on the 30 of July, took it 2 days later (95) and they just called me on the 18th of Aug. Scheduled my interview for the 26th and the woman on the phone said she was looking to place for a class as early as the 31st! that's pretty quick! After doing similar flying in the AF on the C-5 (FE), I look forward to the opportunity to do the same on the whale, going to better cities and staying in nicer hotels!

Has anyone that spoke to Atlas at OBAP last week heard anything yet?

Got the HR call on Tuesday and I'll have an interview on the 25th in HPN. I had taken the assessment about 3 weeks prior to OBAP. I talked to both Emily the HR lady and a pilot at the fair. 5000TT 700TPIC. I'm sure they will get to you soon!
