Southern is still hiring but A/C are on hold because of the acusition. 2 737 on hold and 1 777.

I didn't. I also didn't attend any job fairs. That being said, my app sat on-file for five years (maybe an average time, who knows?) Any hand-up you can get is always invaluable.

Job fair doesn't hurt. I applied early Dec- and have a class date already.

Yes, all of the recent classes have been full. 747 class starts every 3 weeks and the 767 is about the same.

Fresh off the boat. I would've been here sooner but they never passed a multi-crew license so I had to hit 1500 hours first. Joking aside, most people leaving have been here less than 5 years I'd guess, so it is helping new hires move up the list faster, since they (the ones leaving) are senior to somebody who is just starting.

Yawn ... call me when you've been swimming for 9 months.

BTW, Fridays are a great time to call HR, especially if you can be in MIA by Sunday night.
