Absolutely...well said.

The best candidate (and others) are being "watched" at every stage of the game...as long as you remember that, the best candidates will get the nod.

Period.

If not, the others that might have a flaw or two, might make the right impression have a real chance at the swimming pool. The idea is for them to get to know you, the real you, AND for you to get to know the company and its operations, lifestyle, etc.

It is a two-way street...don't ever forget that. This flying is NOT for everyone. Those that are interviewing from the Regional, and Corporate, domestic backgrounds must understand that the flying we do is not the same as what you are doing now.

Good luck.

There is an aviation job fair in Vegas this Friday and Atlas will be there. I already have my info in with an internal rec. and plenty of experience. Does anyone believe it's a worth while venture/expenditure?

Thanks
If you really want the job with Atlas - GO - and tell them you really want to work there.

They will see your efforts and your desire to work for them. Plus they get to know you a little bit; see your face and be able to put a name to it. I wish I had had the opportunity to do that. May have gotten pulled out of the stack much earlier.

Assuming you meet their minimums, the cost will be money well spent if you get hired.

Plus, you can network with other airlines as a backup plan.

I'd LOVE to work for Atlas and did just that. I went and spoke to D. at WAI twice last month, internal letter of rec, all of the preferred mins then some. Still, after 10+ months of updating, no call. Maybe too soon, I know. Understand it is probably a numbers thing, and my narrow perspective is lacking the bigger picture, but at this point I really think they just randomly pick names from a hat. Not trying to be a skeptic, but after going through other selection processes in my career (AF UPT,UAL, etc), I'm just not convinced they have some special system in place. Of course if/when I get a call I will the first on here to sing their praises On a serious note, anybody know if any furloughees have been interviewed recently? I know their policy towards resigning seniority numbers is changing. Good luck to all- KC

Indeed a fun ride. Almost feels like strapping on a sports car and handles so nice. With a little practice and remembering the basics, you can grease it...even in a place like MDW, with room to spare!

Hate to see her go into the history books, but a lot of fond memories. Practicing manual gear extensions on a single engine approach however, was not one of them....

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^What he said.

There never has been and may well never be another that will do so much with so little as the Boeing three holer. IMHO the classic Boeing's are beyond reproach.

Question for those that have been down to MIA for the interview

For those with internal recs, did you bring letters to the interview, or did the interviewers already know you were recommended via the internal process? Also, anybody have examples of "any other documentation that reflects well on you that you would like to provide." The only thing I can think of in that category would be a copy of a check airman letter or something along those lines.

Thanks

Good for you man. Unfortanately, I'm stuck in Germany right now and can't answer my phone. Darn the luck. I would LOVE to get a call! Hopefully my school slot isn't lost. I'll let you know.

Cheers-
