I was implying our management team is getting industry standard pay(which they are) while we are not.

I only meant "us" as Atlas employees.

Plus, JC had those digs long before he came here from Northwest by way of Spirit. As you may recall, Northwest was the poster child for rancorous employee vs management relations. He and his cohorts are well versed in this sort of thing.

For those interested in coming here, Atlas just no showed negotiations without even informing the union they wouldn't be attending. They also have been sending letters to our families while we are on trips. Calling people and asking for doctors notes if they are sick. It all adds up to the worst atmosphere any of us have ever worked in. Please educate yourself on the current environment here before applying or accepting a class date. Years ago it was a great place to work at. Not so much anymore. Of course, it's all the union/pilots fault according to them. What a shame.

Management said they would negotiate in good faith. How can you "negotiate in good faith" and not actually show up to negotiations?? I mean, I've got a degree from a fairly decent school but I didn't get my MBA...maybe that's why it's so difficult to for me understand..hmmm

You know how so many airlines in history have seemed to hire up until the day they furlough? I have no inside info, but it kind of feels like this could be in our future. Its a known management tactic and we are in the beginning of a massive fight. We lost some Etihad flying (the SJU/BOG/AMS/MXP run), and the air freight news is reporting a weakening air freight market. RAH did something similar to this back in the day. Again, I know nothing, but I wouldn't put it past this management team to mess with us in this terrible fashion. Anybody else think that their massive hiring isn't just for attrition/retirements, but for possible furlough fodder?

I also have no inside info, but I believe this is absolutely one of the next few moves management will make. Make no mistake about it. The days will get much darker before we see light again, and this will be on the table. If I was just now getting on or recently got on, I would be very worried!

So- you are saying any airline going through heated contract talks- are subject to furloughs? Like SWA & DAL presently are ??At the end of the day- pilots are needed to FLY the operation.

DAL and SWA don't have the benefit of owning another airline they could shift work to. Atlas could easily furlough at Atlas and hire at Southern and/or Florida West. Between the two they've got 76, 77 and 74 on the certificates. Nobody is saying this will happen, just given their track record it seems like something they'd do to put pressure on the largest and highest paid of the three pilot groups during negotiations.
