How are the changes to get assigned overseas, e.g. FRA Hahn ? Is it a proper base, or just a secondment ? Thanks

No international base. We just pass through cities.

Could be hours, could be months. Seen it all. All depends if HR misses or loses you in the shuffle.

Hahn is not a base in the normal sense. Hahn and Incheon are two places that are usually offered as an "outbasing" for crew. It goes by seniority. You will be available to the company for the entire month and may or may not actually see the base.

Interestingly, a bid for HHN came out today. The whole month on reserve at 130 credited hours of pay…767 drivers only, though.

If you are a 767 driver, you will only get outbase bid notifications for the 767 only. 747 has slots for the HHN outbase for May.

the only way to get called fast is to go meet them in person at a recruiting event. They call pretty much everyone within a few days of that. Anecdotally I know of someone that had app in for months, went to the event and got called in 2 days.

Outbase positions are always announced on the first of the month. Each fleet only gets the positions available for their own fleet.

And to further expound on the great information above: Past few months after Germany went Level 4 / Art 33 there were much less opportunities to pickup trips and it was more of an extended time off/vacation if you will. Korea/Japan last month as well. When Art 33 dissipates then things will pickup again for the outbaser is a guess. Well, May is right around the corner so we’ll see how less crews we have available- or not?

There are outbase spots for both HHN and ICN for 747 FOs.
