Those Japan Sims are supposed to begin in about a month. Used for Initial New Hire and Transition. Request? Probably no need.

Yes. You can request anything, of course. Are you one of those that asks ATC: “ Can we request three five zero?” (just yanking your chain)

Seriously….I mean, really. I won’t mention names on this board, but the most efficient and experienced training scheduler loves pistachios. A gift tin of such would go a long way.

She's also nice. I mean you don't have to schmooze for schmoozing's sake. She'll go out of her way to help you out with family, etc. Just don't be a jerk to her.

Yes, you’re exactly right about her.

Apparently, the jovial nature of my intent to get her more pistachios came across as a conniving. My bad. I was just kind of hoping it wouldn’t be taken as “schmoozing” or being a “jerk”.

I thought I read it a while back but can't find it. Wondering how many days trips typically range from on the 767? I was told the 767 does more domestic flying and has shorter trips than other fleets. Any insight is appreciated.

Page 2 of the Atlas Thread has a "767 Questions" thread.

Everything is subject to change. However; the short answer is you are looking at 2, maybe 3 blocks on a 30 day Primary Line. 3 or 4, maybe 5 blocks on a 60 day line. That equates to 6 to 12 day trips.

Secondary and Reserve lines seem to be done in one or two blocks on a 30 day. There are some single block 30 day Primary lines, but those may be less than 17 days.

Every month is a big surprise when the bids come out. Latest trend I have seen is to just stick a FO on the same flight day after day. No variety.

I don't think you were being conniving at all. I was more trying to build on what you said. I remember folks, myself included, thinking long and hard about approaching her. Just trying to say she's approachable.

Hi everyone, I’m a CA at a regional in the US , currently .
I will soon need to commute from South America , and my current schedule won’t allow that .
Looking into the 74’s 17/13 schedule , is this type of commute realistic ?

Also, I know the upgrade on the 73 is faster than the rest of the fleet , how’s the 73 schedule ? How many legs do you guys do per day, either on the 74 or 73?

Thanks so much for the info .

I lived and flew in Japan for 14 years and get ready for a culture shock and I mean that in a good way. The Japanese leave nothing for chance and leave nothing to chance and go out of their way to make things perfect. It is in their DNA. When our contract ended the wife and I hated to leave. One tip, stay away from Negishi and the Gaijin living areas. Enjoy the culture, get a copy of the Hiragana and Katakana alphabet, there are 42 on each and easy to learn. Note, there are 3 alphabets and Kanji really hard to learn, if not impossible. Learning some language would be a big help, Even a little will go a long way with the Japanese. We lived in Zushi and at first, the only Gaijns in the town. Best move we ever made. Enjoy, you will not regret it.
