Depends on many things like prior tpic, age, and what you want etc. If you're < 30 and no TPIC, i'd say stay and get the 1000 tpic. IF you want to be a globetrotter and you are sure you want nothing else i'd say come here. As always you'll know if you made the right choice when you retire, Good luck!

New vacancy is out...

The pilot group shrunk by 5 to 1017 pilots.
4 people were hired so 9 left or retired.
767 Seat locks were released and most of the unlocked FOs bid over to the 747. Their training dates are in April and May.
30 upgrades were awarded. 22 to the 747 and 8 to the 767.
The junior captain is now a 5-17-2010 hire on the 767.
60 new hire spots are available. 36 on the 767 and 24 on the 747.
The next seat locks expire in March and April. Hopefully the company will do the right thing and pay the unlocked 767 guys 747 pay if they fill the new hire spots with new hires prior to training the 767 guys. Part of me suspects the new hire spots are there because the company wants to fill them with new hires prior to the next round of expiring seat locks.

Enjoy...

+1 If you lack PIC then get your 1000 hours PIC before making a lateral move like that. Being a Captain there is as good as a 2nd year FO at Atlas. Keep in mind that you'd probably end up on the 767 for 3 years and 2nd year pay on the 767 is a $4 an hour pay increase.

Upgrade at the regional. Why? Because this is Atlas. Just flew with a new hire F/O who was a super senior Captain at a regional making 6 figures and he is already regretting leaving the regional.

As a super senior captain I agree. It may be a little different if your a new upgrade, bottom of the reserve list, commuting, and/or with a good chance of being displaced back to the right seat.

I have been sitting at home for three weeks awaiting OE and I was just called to have my first flight on Monday. There are still two from my NH class that have not flown and will be at home until January before they start flying.
