Or they could give 767 guys equal pay.

Not completely true Captainv...they could put new hires into the 74 and just have the union grieve it.

Loop,

My opinion is that the open slots for the 747 will go (initially at least) to 767 FOs that have completed their bidding freeze and have now been waiting for 747 slots to open up since about late September. We have NOT hired ANY 747 FOs since then...so, the current 767 FOs will take the first 20-30 747 slots that become available. After that number, the company has the option to release others from their bidding freeze but have not done so in the past, so we shall see.

But for now, it might be best to expect a 767 class if you are in the pool now.

Actually, the contract is amendable in Sep 2015 and expires in Sep 2016...which is to say that it can continue in its current form for YEARS longer because expiration means nothing until a new contract is ratified.

Countdown on 1224 site shows negotiations begin in 361 days. Under the RLA, contracts never "expire", they continue as written until unless/until amended. Here's hoping that happens sooner rather than later.

My theory has been that they slightly over hired on the 747 so that they would be able to delay the 767 guys bidding over. It also helps them control the flow from the 767 to the 747. Just an opinion... I feel pretty sorry for the 767 guys. Since September the 747 FOs have shrunk every month.

Big award just posted...

Looks like there are a number of 767->747 transitions, though they're now showing 24 ANC 747 new-hire positions (probably because those unlocked on the 767 didn't care to go there), and 36 CVG 767 new-hire vacancies. Total of 40 additional new-hire slots (minus the 20 that were already included on the last bid). 60 new-hire vacancies in total.

Congrats to the new captains... 767 CA just awarded down to May, 2010.

Looks like some shenanigans going on with this bid though.

I agree. I still think they're playing us. I unlock from the 767 a year from next month, but the way they're playing this, it might be at least another year and a half before I even see a 747 class.

Hey guys, appreciate all the info in this thread. Let's say that you have an upgrade class date at a regional, and an offer from Atlas...What would you choose and why?

Thanks in advance!
