Well said!

So there are many folks who took the test back in December and January who are still waiting for the interview phone call to come through. Any news of upcoming interview dates which they might be calling for soon?

Every now and then this thread inexplicably takes a turn and heads south into the realm of trash talk normally relegated to Flightinfo.com. It's time to knock it off and get back into the business of helping pilots who would like to come on board at Atlas.

Yup, AMEN to that. Didn't mean to derail the conversation. I had no idea it was still so bad. Sorry guys, must be tough to see those kind of shenanigans. I thought that was long buried stuff.

So back to the Atlas thread........hey look a squirrel!

A co-worker friend of mine got the phone interview today and offered the interview this coming Monday in Purchase. Kinda short notice! He called me in an excited/panicky state.

I know there are and there could be any reason for that. Maybe they got lucky. Maybe they filled a diversity spot. Maybe they scored great on some online test. Maybe their Dad is the chief pilot. Who knows. The majority of the guys/gals that I know who've gotten hired at those places have great resumes with some diverse things on them. Instructors, Evaluators, Dual Qualified Mil guys with thousands of hours Heavy international PIC, Chief Pilots, Squadron Commanders,.... Those are most of the guys that I know who've been hired at legacies.

For every RJ FO with 1000 hours in a turbo prop there are probably 10 Instructors or Evaluators being hired. Just an opinion but it should be an experience that most pilots want to have on their resume.

I'm a male and that's a bit harsh. I've flown with some great females who'd deserve a job over me anywhere any time.

"Chick"?...really? Please check that 1950's Mad Men attitude at the door when you post on a public forum.

Upgrade to 767 captain is a bit under 5 years now. I think junior 747 capt is 12? Years...but that number will drop quickly as certain years not many guys hired. Guy hired in Aug 2010 is about 150 numbers away from 747 Capt.

That number already dropped quickly because of the hiring gap. Yes, junior captain is under 5 years, but from that point on about 400 people have been hired. At 20-30 retirements a year a new hire needs growth and attrition or it'll be a loooooooong time until they upgrade.
