True! From the union update yesterday:

"With Amerijet’s new contract, their minimum monthly guarantee will be increased to approximately 80 hours a month (13 bid periods at 74 hours per each bid period). Conversely, at Atlas Air, our minimum monthly guarantee is just 64 hours a month.

An Amerijet B767 Captain at maximum pay on minimum monthly guarantee would earn $290,370 a year. Conversely, an Atlas Air B-767 Captain at maximum pay on minimum monthly guarantee would earn $221,937 a year.

A second year Amerijet B767 First Officer on minimum monthly guarantee would earn $126,984 a year. Conversely, an Atlas Air second year B-767 First Officer on minimum monthly guarantee would earn $97,244 a year.

It is important to note, minimum monthly guarantee is also tied to the value of a sick day, vacation day, and a training day."

You've been here for years. You get the same union emails as the rest of us.

From that same email, their lack of amalgamation protection is described as a "major" drawback by our eboard. Considering our contract was significantly delayed for this very issue, and it was cited in many union emails, I feel like we're being a little less than straight with our fellow pilots if we fail to mention this. Pilots get misinformation from recruiters, and we can rememeber some bizarre compensation numbers that were passed out not long ago. Pilots also get misinformed by individuals who think they are helping our cause by trying to scare off potential hires.

Cutting through the crud, you are guaranteed to make more money at Amerijet. That's a fact in the short (2-3 year) term.

To be fair, chances of Amerijet buying someone and amalgamating their contract is very small. I think Atlas has been the only one ever to use that clause. We might have some trauma over it, but I don't see that being a huge issue.

Crazy Ameri-jet pulls in more dough. I’m confident we will one up them next time. Keep up the good fight.

I was just answering their question: "Is it true?"

"Yes, it's true."

I'm not pushing an agenda.

The current contract isn't amendable until September 2025. I wouldn't expect anything until a while after then.
