Flying here is fun, but you will find yourself *****ing in the cockpit after the 500th CBA violation you're a part of and another exec bonus! It's a completely different world than 117 passenger flying. What would you do if we never got a contact, you don't get hired anywhere else, and you're gone 18+ days a month texting the wife from Niger under this CBA forever? If you're happy with that than come on over.
CandlerKid, no offence taken. You know what you maybe absolutely right, maybe I dont know what I am getting myself into and I certainly wont argue with the current Atlas pilot group over the CBA, you know a lot more about it than I do.

The 12 months I mentioned was just a bit of positive thinking, maybe it is only wishful thinking but we all have to hope it will happen sooner or later.

After 2 years say, if I was completedly ****ed Off and ready to explode I probably would leave. I would alsways be able to get a job elsewhere, the regionals for example plus airlines abroad, as would most of us.

Sure not ideal but it is what it is. As for not being able to get a job elsewhere well then I would seriously consider leaving the industry. My wife works, we are starting a small business all so and I have a 4 year IT degree with experience.

There is always something we can all do. If I find myself in that above situation you mentioned I will just walk, go fly King Airs, medivac, corporate, go into IT again etc... plenty of options.

Im going in with my eyes open and if in 2 years it gets progressively worse then I will re-evaluate and decide then. Like I said earlier, aviation worldwide is up the creek without a paddle with big issues everywhere so sitting back waiting for things to happen and for aviation to come right so to speak is a fools errand.

The only thing left is to give it a go and see what happens, cant really do more than that.

Good luck in training and focus on the task at hand while in Miami. Just trying to let you know the realities of this job. Beers on me when you hit the line!

I interviewed a while back, got into the pool, waiting on a class. Is it just me or did we hardly do any of the paperwork? Like driving records, pria, etc? Did I miss something or did we not have to do all that normal formality paperwork?

Egg320 I think you need to take a minute and adjust your attitude toward this job. An attitude of "I've paid my dues in aviation" et cetera isn't going to score you points in training nor when flying in Africa.

The schedule is ... dynamic? Even as a senior FO, my average was 72 hours credit/month. YMMV
