Oops, sorry about that. that was my experience when hiring was in full swing last year. Let's hope it gets back to that soon. But I well remember going a little crazier every day the phone didn't ring. At least for now you know why it isn't ringing yet.

Just starting a 56-hour layover in Guam. I'm doing this for you, Rhino, the freighter is all yours!

Ok, CaptainV...you are cleared direct to Kuwait...where a sand storm awaits, where temperatures are reaching 45 deg Centigrade, and you will spend the next two weeks on double secret Kuwait Reserve.

Enjoy Tumon Bay...the waters are really nice, snorkeling is good, and the drinks are cold (with little umbrellas in them).

So how does Moose get HNL layovers and you're stuck in the sandbox? Was he the senior dispatcher???

Sign me up, 744, you can show me the Souk! I guess I dodged a bullet. The other FO is DHing to Hahn via UAM-NRT-LHR-FRA, to do an out and back. Then DHing home. Naturally, he bid DHL.

Sounds like you and I are airing dirty laundry here, but those on the outside should pay close attention, and take notes on life at Atlas.

Lesson here is this...bid what you want, be happy with what your seniority allows, and accept the curve balls they throw at you...

Great, now I will be on edge all day for the phone to ring!! I'm going to wear out the standby button checking to see if anyone called! Been swimming since September so I hope this is true. Things are terrible at my current company and I am so ready to move on.

Confirmed. New hire 767 class in July and DB is talking about classes being added for Aug and Sep as well. A possible resumption of interviewing later in the year was also mentioned.

When you have your gateway base selected, for instance MCI, what determines what airline you will be placed on to get you to the airplane? Does the DH pilot have the ability to request a particular company?
You can ask for whatever you want. If it is reasonable, they will do it. Often, it is too expensive, or the schedule you want doesn't match with their schedule.

Sometimes I ask for a specific airline, or sometimes a specific flight. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't.

You can also ask for "alternative travel", which is where they airline you somewhere else besides your gateway.

If you don't live near a gateway, you may be able to get a new gateway designated for you....or you may not.

Also, if you live within 2 hours of more than one gateway, they can travel you out of whichever gateway.

Vacancy award published today shows 2 vacancies on the 767 and 16 on the 74 listed as New Hire. But there is a lot of short FO list, as in the CVG list shows 14 more CA than FO's. ??????

Good Luck.
