Im just curious, what type of questions can one expect on the phone interview? Is it a semi get to know you conversation or do they ask technical questions? Thanks in advance!!

From the multitude of postings, I have gathered that the phone interview is geared towards getting to know you and WHY you want to be a part of the Atlas team and how you are a good fit for Atlas and how Atlas is a good fit for you. I'm sure they will reflect on the possibility of being away for extended periods of time, and they want to know that you and your family are good. With longer schedules.

And they will continue making clear to you that 17+ day trips are something you can hack...assuming you make it to the next round for the face to face in Miami, they will ask you that very question in a hundred different ways to make damn sure you are not going to waste everyone's time (and your own).

This is the time to hunt for information about Atlas Air, our customers, our management, our business model, our fleet, our basing scheme, etc...a great place to start is Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings and this thread...start from page 1 and don't stop till you get back here!!

Good luck...

GV, thanks for the reply. Im hoping to get that phone call. From the people I talk with and the attitudes and personalities in this forum, Atlas appears to be the best thing going. A good friend of mine has been there 12-13 years, he loves every minute of it.

Default August 2012 Atlas Interview

744 Driver is right on. The biggest thing they are worried about is your ability to hack the long trips. 17-21 days. They focus on it again and again in the interview.

The interview is the same as listed before in this thread. Intro, PRIA/Background Paperwork, Essay, Tour, Resume Review, Technical Review, and Pannel Interview(HR/Pilot/Ops.) Take note that the Resume review is with "el Jefe," so treat it accordingly. Plan on the overall interview process taking all day 0700-1800. You might get out early, but it probably won't go past 1800.

It was a great experience. Be yourself. They are looking for variety. They want pilots from all backgrounds. Our interview group was evenly devided: Previous 747, current 747, milatary only, RJ, other ACMI, contract, and corporate pilots. All age groups, races, and genders, so if you think you want to do this, take a tough self-evaluation and if you think it matches your career/lifestyle ambitions, put in your PAQ.

Good luck.

PS: They are going to be doing alot of hiring over the next 18 months, primarily into the 744. Need 75 by end of year and 12-24/mo all of next year.

I relish the possibility of only doing 1 trip a month. Even though it may be for 20 days, is till enjoy the principle of it.
