Who buys CDs??

Of a more serious nature, does anyone have any additional information about the upcoming class? 10 individuals in October, presumably in the 744. (Dual qual in the -8?)

I've heard nothing on the class, but then I rarely hear the good gouge.

However, I can tell you this with a certainty. If you are on the 74, you are qualified for every single version we fly. The -8 just happens to be a common type with the -400.

For folks wondering about schedules and how much they change, here's my current example:
25 Sep award: 4-15 Sep, ANC LAX PVG NRT NGO PVG NRT ICN HKG ANC Followed by my PT sim in Miami on my days off.

As of today: still operating within the 4 -15 Sep timeframe
Actual has been: ANC LAX PVG HKG DAC DWC so far.........
When I went to bed I was DH all the way back to ANC and sim in miami. Now after checking my schedule the Good Deal Fairy delivered: SAH BOM HKG ANC. PT sim cancelled because now my heavy rest will overlap the sim. I'm sure Dee is gonna love that. Now the sim will have to be put in somewhere later in the month or October. And since I'm on a 60 day line that I'll effect my schedule later.

In my limited time here at Atlas (6 months so far) the best advice I think you can get for a new hire with limited seniority in the bid process is to bid for time off. Not pay or destinations or hours. Don't be upset WHEN your schedule changes just be along for the ride and enjoy each new locale. I mean hey, you are in a long haul 747 flying around the world. It will be the country that changes not the state. I think its great. You're going to be paid whether you fly or not. I seems the 4.85 hr/day is usually greater than the number of hrs one flys each month. MIN Guarantee first year is 50hrs per month. I've been 68-74hrs through the summer. YMMV

Just remember not to let on to your wife/girlfriend know that you're having fun without her while getting paid to see what others go on vacation to see. It's always really hard work, sleep is hard to come by, no good restaurants, and there's no time to go out and see the sights. Oh and one more tip: if you have an iPhone with photostream enabled where those photos will go automatically back to your home computer, or better yet your AppleTV connected to a big screen TV at home, do not take pictures on your iPhone that will get you in trouble later. No my experience but a friend (not at Atlas) new to apple found out the hard way how Steve Jobs magic really works.

I know it is subject to variables, but mas/menos ballpark annual pay for Years-1 thru 5 as an FO is what ?

That is like saying that it is windy in a tornado.

The hourly pay is posted on this site. Budget for guarantee (50 hours year 1, 62 from then on). Expect to get paid by CRT (1:4.95 for TAFB). There is no meaningful average, since some equipment/bases are sitting a lot of home reserve while others are flying into their off days.

It is like the Scottish weather. If you don't like the current situation just wait a little bit.

Hey all, have visited the thread many times and asked all sorts of silly questions. You all know this is the most positive forum out there! Here is another silly question, for those of you in your 30s and 40s who have been at Atlas for around 5 years or more. Are things like the retirement benefits or long haul schedules (lack of sleep) or pay a big enough deal where you would consider moving to another carrier if the opportunity was there? Really I'm wondering, if UPS, United, Delta offered you a job, would you take it no question, or would it be a hard decision and a serious possibility you would say "no thanks"?

This is really one question, I'm being a little wordy. Trying not to upset anybody, just very much curious and serious.

I'm 43 and just passed my first year at Atlas. Flying the -400. Can only speak to the sleep part. But I've never slept so much "on the job" in my life. I hear the classic was a different story but for the most part when we show up in the -400 we are ready to go. As soon as you learn to sleep when you're tired and eat when you're hungry the job becomes a whole lot easier.

The numbers are influx. However, the class slated for early October seems to be planned.

There was an extraordinary concentration of suits today.

This is an airline. This morning's solid direction is on revision 112 by 3PM.

I'm 34 and have been at Atlas for just under 3 years. As things currently stand, I want to retire from Atlas. We all know things change, but I could not imagine jumping back into the 121 scheduled pax hauling business again. The Atlas lifestyle just fits me so much better.

34?...daymn...aren't there laws against that (coming from a guy knocking on the big 50 soon...ouch!!).

Good for you, dude...only thing I would like to remind everyone (when comparing the Legacy carriers, FDX, UPS, ABX, etc) is that we are only on our second negotiated CBA (both former Atlas as well as former Polar crews)...whereas the others have mature CBAs, so they are much farther along in the protections, benefits, and provisions, than we have at Atlas.

So, keep that in mind and make your decision using all the information at your disposal...

And, good luck.
