That union email was just showing basic math computed from numbers found on this website. A lot of the old geezers at Atlas either don't visit this site, don't care cause they have a military pension, or haven't gotten down with the computer age. The email was to reach out to our membership in an attempt to inform, no more, no less.
For some real humor, go to our union site and read how out of touch some of the geezers actually are with the rest of the industry.

Got it...yes, chip1, I agree with you...
Just to reinforce your point, a great majority of the DAL, UAL, FDX, etc pilots (old geezers!!) making top dollars are also on military retirement...I don't see them turning down those pay rates, retirements, and work rules...that is how out-of-touch some of our guys are.
Point number 2 however,...how about we educate those geezers to those facts? Only through educating those guys, and unity will we get a reasonable CBA next time.

After reading some of the posts on the 1224 forum; Guys that are ready to just go ahead and admit defeat two years before we even get our chance to make a go at improving our lot, I am afraid for our pilot group and the direction we are heading. It's almost like these guys are working for the likes of Purchase in an effort to dilute our efforts going into contract 16. I know those are harsh accusations; but, I'm telling you, from my perspective, that's the way it seems.

Hopefully it is a small minority of the pilot group. It's up to the union and your fellow pilots to educate those that don't care or know any better. Hopefully you guys get the improvements that you seek and deserve on your next contract in a couple years and help make Atlas a better place to work for those already there, as well as for those of us ready to join your group.

Ding, ding, ding...we have a winner. Great point...and yes, the culture has changed in the last three or so years. And keep hammering these very points we have been making everyday, and we will prevail...we do have the votes needed to drive the discussion.
