After reading some of the posts on the 1224 forum; Guys that are ready to just go ahead and admit defeat two years before we even get our chance to make a go at improving our lot, I am afraid for our pilot group and the direction we are heading. It's almost like these guys are working for the likes of Purchase in an effort to dilute our efforts going into contract 16. I know those are harsh accusations; but, I'm telling you, from my perspective, that's the way it seems.
Hopefully it is a small minority of the pilot group. It's up to the union and your fellow pilots to educate those that don't care or know any better. Hopefully you guys get the improvements that you seek and deserve on your next contract in a couple years and help make Atlas a better place to work for those already there, as well as for those of us ready to join your group.

Ding, ding, ding...we have a winner. Great point...and yes, the culture has changed in the last three or so years. And keep hammering these very points we have been making everyday, and we will prevail...we do have the votes needed to drive the discussion.

you have to look at it from their prospective...they are at top pay but don't need to be top of the food chain. They just want theirs before us young guys confront what they've swallowed for years. QOL issues/top pay are not important to them as they've been doing this for more than a decade with or without a union. They value job security and top pay til retirement. They don't see the benefit of rocking the boat and gaining back all which they've watched their bretheren since 2000 elsewhere were forced to give up. The senior guys didn't give up that much and watched their peers elsewhere retirements dry up, hiring advancements, and bancruptcies with 24 yr US air FO's still on A330s. Lets face it you didn't come to atlas or ACMI because u valued QOL and top Pay. This is for us young guys to change or vote with out feet and go across the street. This will be a very important contract for us. Strength in numbers and educate don't alienate no matter which side you are on!!!!
Although it's easy to spot the problem children as they toss in "As Michael used to say, 'this is the life you've chosen'."

way too many loose coins!
I know this is completely off topic, but I also know that quite a few pilots that use multiple currencies will see this and hopefully be able to help me. I need one of the little black currency organizers. It has about 7 zippers for all the different coins and folding money. I can't seem to find one and when I ask people who have, well , they don't remember where they got them.
