Does Atlas own World Airways? I have a friend that just got laid off at World. Just curious.

The rumor mill here at Atlas is simply outstanding. Here is the last 6 months in no particular order:

AQP in October
777s in the Philippines
AQP in November
777s for Etihad
AQP in December for sure
We'll hire 50 more through the end of Christmas
AQP in January. We're not kidding this time. Book it.
We're adding trip trades and drops to AIMS
AQP in Jan? That's BS. Maybe in early spring.

Never a shortage of good material out there. Enjoy your peak season everyone. I'm sure the furlough rumors are coming soon. AQP? Who knows.

AQP may be delayed, but it's coming. I had always heard a January start date, but latest update is it's been pushed to March/April and will start with a small group and grow once the FAA signs off. If they do it the way it's done at other airlines, you'd want it here sooner than later.

Bid for training is almost here, but trip trades/drops in AIMS will take longer as I believe they need to agree on a vendor. I haven't heard any rumors on more hiring but sure wouldn't mind.

We need to drop Aims and head on over to Flica. They have all the tools in place for the bidding options that we want already. Trip trades worked great and PBS wasn't too bad, if we can someday make it back to that.

That would be great, but unfortunately, EVERYTHING Atlas does, hotel, maintenance, payroll, FAR117 etc is tracked by Aims. So i think it will be a cold day in hell before they will switch away.

We have had AQP on both the classic and -400 for over a year at K4. Overall I would say its been very good.

It only works great if managed correctly and who ever administers it keeps as many options open as possible. PBS would be a huge pain in the a$$ at Atlas. In the wrong hands, PBS will kill any QOL you might have.

Atlas had PBS for years, there is no need to treat it like a theoretical issue. Been there, done that and everyone hired before 2011 has the tee shirt.

PBS worked well for many, not so well for some. The company's position was, as I understand it, that they didn't care if we went with PBS or lines. We went with lines.

PBS worked brilliantly as long as one understood how to bid. As the new guy on the block I was able for my first 2 1/2 years to get my days off all in one chunk when I wanted them. Now with line bidding... not so much. From my standpoint the change was a huge snafu.
