Wait till you see the rest of the world on the 744...lots of jewels out there (and admittedly, lots of just plain rocks too)

Agreed, I really liked Taipei the couple times I was there. Went hiking in the national park outside the city. It was really cool.

Agreed. JD told us when he was doing some CVG flying a few weeks ago. At first, they were going to pull both airplanes for China, but now apparently just one. No info on new routes, but assume it's out of NRT.

Odd part is Jimmy in TPE doesn't know a thing about it, and someone looked up the flight schedule and it shows TPE runs through October. We'll see what happens.

For what it's worth, there's always the odd LCF to pick up out of TPE when it's done with the 'D' check. The last time I was there that was why.

PAE Base theoretical question: What if no one bid for the 15 capt slots in PAE (or less than 15 people bid)? How/who would fill the capt slots that no one bid for?

And, does anyone know if these are additional positions, or were there 15 capt/20 FO slots elsewhere that were removed?

I haven't had a working layover in TPE yet, but my wife and I were out there on vacation earlier this year. The hike (climb up stairs) up Elephant Mountain to get a view of Taipei 101 was pretty cool. I also enjoyed the cheap foot massages in the markets.

I have this feeling I'll be spending more than I make working at Atlas.
I can't wait!

There's also a -400 there over the weekends. I think it comes from NRT, but I'm not sure.

Yep, NRT, a couple hours on the ground, in TPE, then HKG.
