Just so its painfully obvious, I completely agree that this stuff shouldn't be moved as had i/others known this as a prospective new hire about how things are currently instead of the pie in the sky meet and interview, it may have saved others valuable time and resources in making a Career move. This is a life decision for some folks who don't want to waste months on a second rate company and training for an airframe that falls short of the expectations we are expected to adhere to daily while a company thumbs its nose at its greatest and soon if not already limited resource.
One last question, how come the Polar guys get it?

This is the kind of negotiating i'm talking about....we don't get things done for the company until they fix what they have failed to implement in the current contract. I heard guys on last nights conference call say we are ready to implement AQP whenever the company and FAA can get their act together.....WHAT!!!!??? why are we leaning forward to help them get AQP when they haven't even fulfilled stuff negotiated back in 2011/current contract...trip trades, breakfast grievance.....NO NEW BUSINESS UNTIL THE OLD STUFF IS FIXED.....why is this so hard for our current guys to follow???!!! maybe i'm a simpleton but please someone explain this...but isn't this pretty basic....this is what i'm referring to as "misguided"

Have you called and asked any of them? I think there are five guys on the Executive Board right? If I didn't trust them as you seem not to, I would call one of them and ask about AQP, breakfast, and trip trades. I know I heard a guy with one of the communicaiton lanyards talking about breakfast on a flight a couple of days ago.
AQP is down to a single paragraph (basically, how much can the company alter the program without union approval) but negotiations are at a standstill with no further meetings scheduled. Company has moved it off the front burner for now.
Supposed to hear about the breakfast grievance soon, potentially by the end of this month.
Trip trades are a work in progress. One of our scheduling guys is in NYC working on it now. Planning to roll it out beginning with Domestic 767 cargo runs out of CVG, as early as this winter.
C5nwhaleguy, as for AQP, I don't see that as an issue where we have leverage, or where we should use it as leverage. AQP costs the company money vs. how we do it now, and it's a huge win for making training more relevant and more humane for our crews. I've been through the switch to AQP at Brand X, and it's 1000% percent better than what we do now. There's validity to your argument, but I don't think that's the right issue to refuse to engage, IMO.

I agree on AQP. IT WILL BE A BIG IMPROVEMENT for us, so we should she to it. It will make things better for us in training and on the line. Since it costs the company more money, and our FSDO doesn't want us to do it, I don't think the company would give us anything for it.

If you talk to the guys working in the training center (I'm not one), yes, the current leadership is pushing to lower their income by removing their ability to VX for open time. They are line pilots like the rest of us, and right now they're fuming mad that their 1.56% is going toward a grievance meant to restrict their pay.
Of course, that only applies to our pilots who work in Miami and receive the 72 hour min with the 10% override. What about our line check airmen, who also receive training overrides?
Exempt from the grievance.
Things that make you say "Hmmmm."

You may want to look at the B767 Check LOA - paragraph 27 before you go "Hmmmm" :-). I think that is what is being grieved and it applies specifically to guys who work in Miami in the TC.
The LOA allows them to bid for open time on the months when they are bidding as line pilots.

Whatever it may cost the company (there are more simulator periods per visit but the visits are fewer so that is mitigated somewhat) it is a boon to those of us in the trenches. We had AQP in my prior life at ATA and it was a far, far better use of time than the old 'pistol to the head' simulator mentality of the past. Even further back, in the USAF C-141 world, the approach on the pre-brief was "OK, you are Q-3. Now let's see if you can work your way out of it"! I know, I'm dating myself. ;-)
