I retired KC-135 last spring but there wasn't a lot of hiring taking place. I took a CRJ job to stay current. I then got hired to fly 747 cargo, left the CRJ job to start training at the new job and they cancelled my class and furloughed a few. Now my excellent resume looks like I didn't hack it at the regionals which I was really having a good time at. AAARG It's all good but Altas is where I'd love to complete my second career. I'm gonna have to take what ever I can get to stay current. I doubt currency in my RV-8 counts much I also can cook an excellent ribeye topped with garlic and bluecheese crumbles and serve it up with the finest bottle of "two buck chucks" merlot.

When they ask about the resume I am sure you can intelligently present the "whys" .... you will be fine! You are an adult that makes decisions, I am sure they realize that.

Doc, I second what workingforfree said. Anybody who's been in this industry for a while knows that the airline business can be a fickle one, and what seems like a good idea one week can turn into a disaster two weeks later. As long as you have a reason for what you did, then that's all you can tell them. I've known guys who have taken much longer and convoluted paths than you to get to their jobs. From one patiently waiting to another, good luck.

One of the recs I made just got a call. Brittany wanted him to take the test ASAP so he could be fit into the interview next week. TAKEAWAY: If you get the link to the test, do not screw around. It looks like the wave will continue here for a few more months. Early interviews could have a huge impact on your life here given the amount of movement right now.... Good luck folks.

I have read every page in this thread, I think. So forgive me if this has already been addressed but I do not remember seeing it. So here it goes, do the interviews take place in New York or Miami or both? Also, does Atlas buy the airline ticket and hotel to the interview or is that on our dime? Forgive me if that is a dumb question. But if they wanyt someone at an interview next week, that short of notice to an airline will be a pricey ticket. I also want to thank everyone who has contributed valuable insight and information to all of us Atlas wannabes. Pilots helping pilots,,,, I love it!!

Giant pilot, when did your buddy submit his resume and PAQ?

Approximately how long after he submitted his stuff did he get a call for the phone interview?

Thanks!

Did they assign him a class date? I'm curious if the September 24 class is full yet.

Humm, I'm going to have to have a chat with my sponsor. Will Brittany accept calls from Atlas pilots checking on their recommendations? I imagine she's a little busy these days.
