We're cool OSA. The beer offer stands.

None of it matters as far as how many hours you credit...it is a matter of an unfair and an artificial choice that the company makes when they assign aircraft when you are hired...
Yes, it is smart to accept the first class that you are offered, but being held to a lower paying aircraft simply because that is what is being offered is the point here...
I challenge anyone to convince me why a pilot is worth LESS for flying a smaller airplane...am I flying the 767 any less safely than when I was a 744 guy? Does my contribution to the company matter any less? My contribution to the safe operation of an airplane has nothing to do with the size of the airplane...
In this case, size does not matter!!
And I will argue that UPS has it right where they have no pay differential across their fleet of several different types of aircraft...and even FDX to some extent because they have a narrowbody and widebody pay scale.

This is another issue lots of us junior guys talked about a few months back on the union board and were told we are crazy by the senior guys. Pretty much all of us junior (5 years or less?) guys on the 747 100% agree with your assessment. This is another issue that the old guys can't understand in terms of cost. What cost the company more $$....paying you guys 747 pay or having 80% of the 767 FO's leave to a major and paying new guys every year to backfill that?

1) Get rid of 50 hr 1st year guarantee - no more B scales
2) No more R1 for VTO, Regular or Hybrid (unless published). If you're home you should be off the hook.
3) No more involuntary extensions, we have enough planes & people to not need this except in extreme circumstances
4) If a junior pilot is hired in to higher paying equipment, all pilots above will be pay protected.
Sorry though, I'm OK with differentiated scales. A 76 doesn't raise the same revenue as a 74. I still think until the 76 is the plane people are hired into, pay protection for the guys getting hosed.

I plan on it...you should too.

I hope we're the majority. It's close I think. As with most of us here I love the flying, crews, and lifestyle here at Atlas and hope we can rally the troops to fight for what we deserve. Unfortunately it's a long career for some of the younger guys so I think they get scared when they hear the older guys say this is as good as it'll get. I like the attitude of yourself and a handful of other captains taking the lead though. We need that.

I appreciate the compliment...however, (and I'm sure you know this, but please humor me!!), don't let some of our weak senior guys lead you into a defeatist attitude.
We get the Union we deserve, and we get the CBA we deserve...so, let's all band together and take the CBA that we deserve next time around.
Thanks for letting me vent...I've been scarce on our private forum on the union site...maybe it is time to start beating that drum.
