Really? How much 121 time do you have? How much PIC time? How much turbine? I noticed that you have failed to mention these. I have tried to help some pilots who come on here complaining such as you have. What I have found in every case upon receiving their resumes, is that they are not even remotely qualified. Fly more, get your experience level up and then enjoy the plethora of choices that will be available to you in this industry as an experienced pilot

From my experience thus far (5Y 747.) Atlas has plenty of qualified pilots. Loads of Military AMC/Rsv/Guard, 135 or fractional captains and a plethora of high time PIC regional captains (Xjet,Skywest,RAH,Mesa etc.)

While the learning curve is quite steep and the training rather strenuous I do not feel like I work with a bunch of flunkies? Everyone that I work with has a really unique back story and something that I feel definitely sets them apart. It's usually something that makes a match for this type of flying. A lot of guys I work with whether be the one that doesn't go home because he lives life abroad or the one that kite surfs the Maldives on his days off... They each have a reason. We train, fly and live the world. Even the guy that goes home to a wife and kids now has the added challenge of balancing the two.

Atlas has long way to go regarding the contract fight..but Im not gonna let people come on here and start thinking that it has bunch of Inexperienced bottom feeders and subpar pilots currently on property. Every airline has it's own 10%

Oh, why not. I'll take a stab at it.

MIA is a 747 base. If you want 767s in MIA, try UPS.

I have been told 2 years seat lock, every new hires go to ANC and the 74 for at least a month. MIA is about a year + to hold. I'd prefer the 76 in MIA or CVG yet I understand the business.

3-year seat lock, unless you can upgrade. ANC from FLL is a super-fun commute, and you'll get to spend even more days off getting to/from work.

Maybe get to go to CVG in a month +, JFK is senior (though I'm not thrilled about JFK as a base).

You won't see JFK on the 767 for a long time. Maybe on the 747, but you'd want MIA anyway.

Questions: Is it even worth trying to go to Atlas? For a year maybe 2? I would like some heavy time yet I also know I'll never make CA at one of the Majors, UPS or FedEx.

Upgrade at FedEx has gone junior lately. And if you got on with a major, why would you care about upgrade? You'll make more as an FO than you'll ever make as a CA at Atlas.

Would it be a better shot to go to K4? Or try for JB, Spirit, Allegent?

Do your homework Only you can answer that question. Or do you want to rely on internet strangers to tell you the pros/cons of airlines we don't work for?

I'd like to get on with UPS or FedEx as boxes doen't complain.

Ideas, intel, suggestions???

Maybe try to get hired by FedEx or UPS first? If you're not qualified to get hired there now, what's a few years in the right seat at Atlas going to do for you?

I didn't even get a TBNT email. I found out when I logged in to update my flight times that I was not selected.

I guess not. My second year pay is their 14 year pay. You don't hear me complaining.

Where do you work now and wtf did you interview for?

Also, Atlas has no 14 year pay. 12 years at this dump and you're capped out.

Default Atlas application next step

You could go to any of those airlines mentioned but you'll have a better schedule and better pay if you choose to do that since they all have much better contracts. Gee. Tough call.
I applied to Atlas a while back.
They sent an email last week- asking to do the online written test.
I did that!
Anyone know of someone I can contact in HR to find status of my application?
Any info would be appreciated.
