Is SIC Type Sufficient?

I have thousands of hours as SIC, sadly it's all about when you were hired and how long you're stuck in the right seat.

"d) Compliance with the requirements of this section is required by August 1, 2013. However, for those pilots who are employed as second in command in part 121 operations on July 31, 2013, compliance with the type rating requirement in paragraph (b) is not required until January 1, 2016."

I wasn't asking because of logging time. I was just curious what the company was planning to do if all of the FOs suddenly became illegal on Aug 1, 2013.
I'm glad we are grandfathered for a while. I guess in our next sim session we will get PIC types.

I be that's what you'll do, Southern. A friend of mine at QX said that's what they did.

What if an airline has a new hire training class scheduled for August 2? Will those new hires be required to get PIC types? Or even more specific what if you're in training right now and your SIC check ride is scheduled for August 2?

Study and prepare for your checkride. Let the company worry about the details. It is NOT your responsibility.
