I don’t know much about him but so far I agree – he’s been impressive. If he fled (like the Afghan guy did) it would have been a catastrophic blow to Ukrainian morale. But I’m not sure how long they can hold them off for – just seems overwhelming. I hope we (U.S., Europe) support them every way possible…weapons, C2, intel, etc.

F'ing Putin...what a cocksucker

Same. The weapons are coming. I hope they're not too late.

oh, like you did with me when I asked you from whence you derived your military knowledge? If you’d ever actually served in uniform?

Let me be more direct.
Naw, let ME be more direct. Have you ever served even one hour in uniform, and no, I mean a MILITARY uniform - tiger cub scouts don’t count.

Do you want the Western Europe to fall to teach them a lesson for their military spending neglect? A little 'tough love' among allies?
Nope, YOU are the one attempting to put those words in my mouth. My statement was that most of our NATO allies and France have never adequately funded their militaries since WWII and that in the last 30 years since the fall of the USSR it has generally gotten even worse. That is not merely my opinion, but the opinion of numerous RAND studies and military journalists. It is apparent in their readiness and inspector general reports. It was obvious in the EUs inability to stop genocide on their own doorstep in the former Yugoslavia. That was also the opinion of the Clinton administration, the Bush administration, the Obama administration, and the Trump administration. I’m scarcely an outlier here.

There are exceptions - the Poles in particular, but most of the other NATO countries are hollow shells of what they were even in 1990. Conventional warfare is overwhelmingly dependent on logistics and spares. I don’t expect you to know that, but that doesn’t change reality. Nor does the fact that - gutsy as they may be - superior equipment, training, and numbers are on the side of the Russians. That’s a matter of fact. So in a sense it really doesn’t matter what I (or you) want, at this point Ukraine is losing badly and without massive escalation by the US and NATO (which politically is unacceptable to both the Biden administration and the majority of NATO nations) that is likely to continue.

So don’t shoot the messenger, Perdue, sometimes messengers shoot back.

The world will be burning down, and you'll still be fighting the culture war.

Our culture war is pathetic, it destabilized our county. The rest of the world is following. Rome all over again, sodom and gomorrah, and Noah’s flood. We need a reboot, here come the nukes.

Today's US military "leadership" is more interested in _________ sensitivity training, personal vehicle inspections, and about two dozen other things before they even begin to consider military readiness and having aviators being tactically and technically proficient and ready for combat. Been there, done that, and have a lot of concern for our military in the years to come. However, if we fight by PowerPoint, we will have no equal.

Some of you guys act like there arevonly 2 choices: not care and do nothing or kit up and go to war.

That's ridiculous logic. We SHOULD care and we SHOULD help Ukraine. But absolutely ZERO US forces should be in the fight or supporting te fight. Scoff at sanctions all you want but they can be effective if there is broad buy in and if done correctly. We should be supplying lethal and no lethal aid as well. If Russia attempts to occupy Ukraine there will be an insurgency....... Obviously there are other ways to help as well. Again - no US Service member should ever be in the line of fire. All of the isolationist, anti-NATO rhetoric is myopic and will harm us in the medium to long term.
