Naw, let ME be more direct. Have you ever served even one hour in uniform, and no, I mean a MILITARY uniform - tiger cub scouts don’t count.

.
Is prior military service a prerequisite for commenting here? Do you think you're somehow smarter or more qualified than every civilian?

Do you want the Western Europe to fall to teach them a lesson for their military spending neglect? A little 'tough love' among allies?
I feel your pain. It’s Excargodog though, I mean look at his post count. If you keep engaging him in posts he will eventually convince you that the color white is actually yellow. I read your back and fourth, I totally get where you’re coming from. He has no concept that he posts in double entendres while defending only one of those meanings while getting super defensive. He’s done two tours apparently too so he’s right.

I think he's fully aware of the intent behind the "facts." It just gives him plausible deniability to say otherwise.

The German Bundeswehr General whose opinion I posted was a Lt Gen. That’s an O-9 and he posted it three days ago. Does he count? The opinion of the JCS I posted…an O-10. Does he count? Or did your cub pack leader teach you something different?

Standing armies are rare? In what century was that accurate?

Look man. I'm not doubting the article.
But what's your point?? You keep blasting that NATO is unprepared. What are you trying to say? That they'll lose against a Russian assault? 30 nations to 1.

What is your point??

British uniform. British NLAW. And more on the way from multiple countries.

Not only do they have NLAWs, but Javelins too.

Anyone heard the rumor (I haven’t checked since I heard it) but some speculation says there is a chance the Ukrainian government managed to hold on to some nukes since 1991, and had stored them in Chernobyl.

One must remember the context of the history of the denuclearization of Ukraine—once the third most nuked up country. They had three times more nukes than China does today.

So for some context, let’s read a little about the Budapest Memorandum.

Interesting read. I remember people were concerned about Ukrainian nukes falling into the wrong hands after the fall of the USSR. If there are some there, it would be crazy if they lasted throughout all the political turmoil of that country.

In any case, we should honor the protections we promised Ukraine when they disarmed. Otherwise, no one will sign a treaty with us again.

Don't worry. As long as everyone has their reflective belts on everything will be fine.

AxlF16,
It has been disheartening reading some of the posts. Your comments of positions being binary either/or are spot on. It infects all of our discourse in this country and seems to paralyze any degree of critical thinking.
Russia has a long history of very effective use of "Fake News". (an aside, fake news is not what we tend to call out in our polarized politics when we just see bias or disagree, it is planted stories from fake news sources, fake experts, fake organizations etc and usually created by a govt or some sort of political organization that wishes to not be seen as the origin)
Russia has used this masterfully and I see the results of its long gestation almost daily. Many of their fundamental falsehoods are imbedded in comments that I have read here. They date back at least to Stalin from the latter days of WW2 and have been an avalanche during the last 10 plus years of the Putin Oligarchy.
Putin has long term strategic goals from somewhat traditional logic, and short term Nationalistic goals of a more 'national spiritual' nature.
He has been aided, intentionally or not, by some people, political organizations, and news outlets in 'The West', and now here we are.
