If I were young, mid to upper twenties, the calculus I would do is seniority + Neeleman + possible stock/buyout could equal great rewards in a decade. The pay rates are a temporary problem and will come up. That man has an impeccable record with airline start-ups.

We have LCA at OO leaving for Breeze. I know they’re walking into an airline ran by DN, but you’re giving up a lot to take a big risk with many unknowns.

It's a bit of a gamble, no doubt. Assuming it is a success those who have the guts to take well calculated risks are the ones who will get the rewards. They are probably looking at the possibility of being at the very top of the seniority list of a 1) much larger airline, 2) an airline being bought out by a much larger one and being well placed in the seniority list integration.
I wouldn't do it if I were not young and didn't have time to recover if it didn't work out.
