Why is Breeze requiring 121 time in aircraft greater than 41,000 pounds for upgrade? Is Breeze unique compared to other airlines? I don't see the requirment in the regionals. The regionals will count all of your 121 time but Breeze only counts what they call "group two", a/c > 41K lbs. Breeze recruits for "Experienced FO" and will hire pilots with at least 500 of 121 time and then not count it towards upgrade unless the time is "group two". It seems to make it even harder to compete with the regionals that are giving bonuses for pilots with 750 hours of any 121 time. PSA? is paying FO's captains pay if they come with have 750 hours 121 time.
Breeze also requires 500 of Breeze time towards the 1500 total 121 "group two" time to upgrade but that makes sense as does the normal seniority requirment for bid. I can't imagine the A220 is harder to fly than any other regional jet but I haven't flown the A220.
I am curious why Breeze is holding itself out differently. The recommendations of the captains and check airmen seem be a better criteria along the FAA 121 hours requirment.

Avelo isn't competing with the regionals either and don't have the "group two" aircraft requirement for upgrade but do have requirments for heavier aircraft for Direct Entry CA. I was looking for a more thoughtful answer. I wasn't attacking Breeze. If Breeze has more to offer or thinks it has because of the A220 that's a good enough answer for me. Breeze first year CA pay is higher than most top step regionals as well, minus the bonuses for experienced hires. My question was an opportunity to hopefully hear the merits of going to Breeze. Someone or group in Breeze decided to limit what types of 121 time are creditied for CA upgrade for a reason and I am interested in those reason(s). Its unique and worth showcasing.

They have the option of upgrading right now on a case by case basis. Depending on recommendations, you can be upgraded at 1000 pt121 time. Although you should probably upgrade when you’re ready…

Thank you. I agree. It seems Breeze has made considerable efforts to promote for safety and the success of the candidate. Not just seniority, etc.

It looks like Breeze is filling classes for July now. I am hoping for a BDL or PVD base if I do get a class date. If anyone can share schedules it would be appreciated and how did the summer effect the schedule last year?

Very few people want bdl or pvd so it’s as good as urs. They also have the most line. That’s where we have vacancies and new hires are usually forced in to this e bases anyways with a few exceptions for mco or tpa
