Why does breeze seem to be the only one hiring when no one else is? Not only this but they keep closing and opening their window of hiring. Is attrition really that high?

Most new A220 hires are getting PVD, BDL and some have managed to get MCO. There is no indication as to when MSY will become a 220 base.

We’re supposed to be up to 120 A220s next couple of years. They closed the window because of the delivery delays, and lower than expected attrition. Now they need to open it again due to more deliveries coming and upgrades.

If you were running hiring would you prefer to hire when everyone else is or during a lull when you could be the only one? Which strategy do you think would result in a better selection of candidates?

By 2024 we were supposed to originally have 80+ airplanes, and over 100 by 2025. As you can see we missed our mark by some accord. Originally management was planning to keep the Ejets longer, or get more of them, but they went the other way and we don’t have nearly the A220s we hoped to get. We are hiring now because finally we are getting a few new planes (which are trash and stay in maintenance facilities to correct corrosion problems), and to cover attrition. If you’re young and want an airline career, either try and get the Airbus so you can actually build experience to leave, or go to a regional and do that route. You’ll sit around for years on the Ejet on indefinite reserve. 2022 hires are still on reserve

MSY is only Ejets and not as much passenger flying anymore. You’ll be on indefinite reserve and be sent to other bases to cover broken A220 flying. They will send you to a different base for 10+ days at a time, with a 30 hour break somewhere and you will be “legal” to have to do it. The problem is you can’t even make it home on your rest day, since it’s a secondary city with very limited flights to and from. The best case scenario is you sit on indefite short call and fly the sports charters when those pick back up. Which could be getting called out to do a turn everyday for days on end. Or getting an 8-10 day multi leg pairing.

Considering all mentioned, and taking living in base away from the equation, why would someone go to Breeze if it sounds worse than regional (for now)?
I have CJOs at a regional and a fractional, deciding on what to do. End goal is a major, just missing TPIC.
