But at least we will be home every night. (Sarcasm) It’s going to get way worse before it gets better, they have thousands applying still
What is a premium LCC? JetBlue? They haven’t made money in years! Wer are going in to a period of LCC restructuring because they are all lgoing bankrupt. And that is not fair game for an airline to try and hold pilots back from leaving. No one is screwing the company, but they can certainly screw us

In what way are they trying to hold people back from leaving?

They’re not holding them back from leaving, just from screwing company on their way out

Screwing them? FMLA is unpaid. Sick time is earned. Using those is not screwing the company. Poor planning and staffing screws the company when people use these.

Hearing “Breeze doesn’t want to get screwed” by pilots leaving is the most ironic thing I’ve ever heard. Sounds like they want it all. Low staffing to save money and prevent staff from using benefits. And this is why I don’t trust Breeze to survive long term. Trying to reinvent a wheel that CANNOT be reinvented.

Exactly

I cant ever wrap my head around that there are captains here that will live and dye by the blue neelyman sword here. Regardless of their QOL.

Lol seriously? Sure many use sick time to get a day off here and there but that’s not what it’s really for. Sick time is for when you’re actually sick, it’s basic work rules 101 even working at Walmart. You must be confusing it with PTO. Of course they’re going to go after you if they think you’re abusing it.

Sick time is earned and part of, often even advertised by recruiting, your compensation package.

Corporate simps are gross

Many of us would like to stay here and see this place succeed. It’s not just a rope to swing on to the next gig.

Really? Sick time is for when you’re really sick? Obvious statement of the year award.

“We’re only going to give them 30ish hours of sick time per year and save a ton of money when they call out above 30 hours. Then we’re going to track to make sure those calls are legit”

Only MX gives out industry-low sick time and bothers to spend the time wondering if the calls are legit. It’s ludicrous. WHO CARES. THERES NOT EVEN ENOUGH TO ABUSE.

Let me leave you with some basic math. The average working adult (in a high exposure area) is sick average 10 days per year. 10 days X 4 hour min day pay is 40 hours per year. RIP your 30 hours of sick pay. Oh my bad, you only have 3 because it’s now accrued. Better not call out until June.

Industry peers getting 50-100+ sick hours per year and posting record profits. Please, keep telling me it’s sick calls screwing the company.
