The real question is why are YOU still here? Don’t you have something better to do than hang out here all day? You’re the one who was saying in your previous posts saying the likes of “from what’s about to happen” kind of thing. Plus why do you have to be so condescending to your peers? Are you the maestro of getting hired by FedEx or something? Are you sure you can pass the Hogan??? . Haha c ya

I really appreciate everyone’s input on this topic, and I’ve made my decision. I’ll use my GI bill to cover my flight training and get my associates, then take up a part time job getting the rest of those hours and use student loans to finish my bachelors. It seems like the most reliable. Although the VA is talking about no longer covering flight training; that’s for another thread, and as long as I can get my SODA. I love how active this forum is. Y’all havent let me down yet, hopefully one day I’ll be able to talk some smack on here with the big dogs 😂 thanks again guys.

You're the bright spark telling others to proceed with their careers sans degree. The problem is, you're wholly unqualified to offer that counsel. You don't have a leg to stand on. You have a degree. What the hell would you know about conducting an aviation career without a degree?
You're talking out your backside. You're offering advice that you can't stand behind, that you have no experience to support, that's a lie.
You could attempt to assert that others shouldn't waste time with a degree, because it made no difference in your progression, but that would be a lie, wouldn't it? Much like your counsel to forgo the degree.
I said nothing of Fedex. You needn't put words in my mouth. Speak for yourself, if you're able.
You are not my peer.

There's another question you should be asking:
Will the degree help me in other ways? For example, when I'm furloughed, my airline goes under, or I'm medically grounded and looking for any job?
Don't look for shortcuts. Get the degree. It will save you a lot of regret later in life.

Hi everyone,
I’m a foreign pilot looking an opportunity at an US major airline, I’ll get my Degree. Does it have to be an US college Degree? or a foreign one has the same value, and Do I have to finish it in 4yrs? or if I can make it in 3yrs it’s totally ok.
Thanks!

Lapav67,
There are companies in America which evaluate foreign transcripts to see how equivalent they are to degrees granted by American universities. You may wish to have your foreign transcripts evaluated in this way.
A three-year degree is very rare in America. It will probably be treated the same as an American two-year degree. It certainly will not be treated the same as a four-year American degree.
