Default Submit Apps Before 1000 Turbine?

Hey guys,

I’ve got my apps done and had them professionally reviewed for American, Delta, and United. I realize I’m probably putting the cart before the horse, considering I don’t have 1000 hrs turbine yet (let alone any TPIC time). That said, should I be submitting my apps now or waiting until I have the 1000 hours turbine?

I asked this question to the company/individual who reviewed my apps and it was a little unclear to me. Example: I was told with Delta if your app gets reviewed and you don’t get an interview you have to wait another year. I interpreted that as - don’t submit your apps until you’ve got at least the 1000 hours turbine.

Thanks.

Depending on your qualifications, you consider seeking employment with a 135 or fractional operator. Accumulate the times required by the airlines as well as TPIC. You’ve got to be marketable to be considered for employment. Good luck and stick with it.

Spirit, Frontier, Allegiant. PIC does not matter. Even if a legacy is you goal you are more likely to get hired out of a ULCC with no PIC than a regional with PIC. Hiring from a regional is like self harm for any of the big three

Apply now, some airlines give points based on how long your app has been in. In regards to delta, that’s incorrect. Depending on your extracurriculars you may be more qualified than you think

I’m constantly hearing of FOs leaving my regional for the majors. American, United, Spirit/Frontier, etc. Get those apps in ASAP.

I flew Citations for a Part 135 company for a short while. I’m at SkyWest now. Thanks

I’ve been pretty torn on going to a ULCC instead of just staying at SkyWest for a while, getting PIC time and going to a major. I did apply for Spirit. My app for Frontier is done, but I haven’t submitted it.

Interesting. This info was coming from a retired Delta guy.

So should one put in an app at 500 hours? At 10 hours? Asking for a friend…
